Which lineup would you rather have? Or would you prefer to mix them up?

Alpina

I would mix them up. Variety is the spice of life!

Alpina. I never become a fans of BMW except the few amazing one like M1 or 1M or E60 M5, but somehow with alpina decal and alpina wheels, they're much better to look at.
Heck, even few weeks ago i'm trying to put Alpina wheels from the B7 to my CLS. It didn't end very well..

If you like the E60 M5 then you HAVE to like my E90 M3. It's the same exact thing except a little smaller. Even the engine is just the M5's engine with 2 less cylinders!

4 Door. Before buying I researched the curb weights and found that the 4 door wasn't dramatically heavier. So I went that route because I already had a coupe that I was keeping.
Fun fact: the E36 M3 sedan weighs exactly the same as the E36 coupe. How did they pull that off? No idea...

That looks exactly like my car! Same color, same wheels, and I also don't have tinted windows. Only difference is I have American plates.

Alpinas are soft and a little...over the top style-wise. I'll take ///M every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Sweet, I'm jealous. I think I want an e92 for my next car, but also considering e90

Oh well..
I prefer the coupe tough. But maybe that's because the first M3 i ever saw when i was kid was a yellow E36 Coupe, and i'm absolutely adore it.
But still, nice car. I bet it's much easier to pull oppo in there than my Overweight-Glorified E-Class.

Don't be jealous. I got mine a year ago. It was a year old so I saved a little off the new price but not a ton. Values have dropped a LOT since then.
You can get a much better deal on one now than I did. I actually just checked today out of curiosity. You can get a 2011 E93 M3 with a fair amount of options for $35K if you're willing to take one with 70,000 miles! The S65 is supposed to be bulletproof so miles shouldn't be an issue if the body and interior look good and the car has been maintained.
Deciding between the E92 and E90 is tough. I do like how the back of the E92 looks better. And the ones with the carbon fiber roof are nice. I just went for the versatility of the E90.

I remember when the E36 coupe came out when I was in high school. It was always yellow in the magazines. I wanted it so bad...

I have two kids, but already have an SUV, so maybe I can be a little bit irresponsible and go for two doors :)

Me too.
And since the introduction of NFS Shift 2, i'm now wanting it even more and swaps in a V10 from M5 to that thing, just like in the game. It'll be batshit insane to drive.
And yes, sometimes a good videogames can sold things.

Always good to be a little irresponsible :)
And it should be OK since you'd normally use the SUV. Getting kids in and out of a coupe isn't that bad if it's not done every day.

Alpina for overall daily, road-going blend of luxury, comfort, and performance.
///M for a little better balance of vehicle dynamics and track performance
